WordPress

WordPress runs a large share of the web. Running it well at scale is a different discipline from installing it.

What a serious WordPress platform involves

The gap between a WordPress site that works and one that holds up under load, audit and a decade of change is almost never the theme. It is decisions made early about content modelling, hosting, deployment and who owns the data.

Content modelling

Custom post types and taxonomies are a data design decision, not a presentational one. Get them wrong and every later feature fights the structure. We model content against the questions it has to answer, then build the templates.

Performance and hosting

Page caching hides a slow backend until you instrument it. We profile queries and rendering before adding a cache layer, because caching a bad query only delays the failure.

Maintenance that means something

Updates are the easy part. The hard part is knowing whether the site is healthy: error rates, query times, failed jobs, certificate expiry, and backups you have actually restored at least once.
